In this course for beginners, kids get to programme fun games while picking up a new language!
Introducing Scratch, a visual programming language created specifically for kids. It’s a block-based programming language where kids learn to code through a simple drag-and-drop visual interface, lowering the barriers to learning for kids who aren’t yet proficient with using a keyboard.
So basically, Scratch is all the fun of coding with none of the hassle of typing!
With just a foundational understanding of Scratch, you can learn how to create your own games, animations, stories, quizzes… with coding superpowers, your imagination’s the limit!
We’ll teach you the basics of game design – use your coding superpowers to go wild and create your own games!
For instance, a simple Maze game!
Scratch projects can be easily created with drag-and-drop blocks. It’s just like a jigsaw puzzle!
Share your new game creations with friends and family. Make it into a #stayhome challenge, and have the whole family come together to have some fun!
While learning block-based programming concepts, kids get immersed into an English-speaking environment as they learn to sound out introductory phonics and basic classroom phrases in English.
Kids are like sponges – the younger they are, the more they absorb.
The basics of learning a new language is through confidence and lots of practice. With kids, it is a good time for them not only to be immersed in an English speaking environment, but also the chance to put what they have learnt immediately into good use.
The kids are taught simple English phrases which will be used when learning basic coding concepts. This would reinforce their comprehension while allowing them to practice in the right context.
No lectures. No memorisation. No ONE right answer. Like real life, we're all about trying things out yourself, failing, figuring what went wrong & trying again. These are the skills & mindset that will last a lifetime and how we learn in real life. Let's get kids to learn how to learn. Because the kids who learn to learn become curious, inventive, resourceful human beings who solve real world problems to make a meaningful impact.
"I give the thumbs up. The environment is conducive, the trainers are knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Last but not least, I am impressed by what they had learn over a short span of time."
"Adam enjoyed himself immensely throughout the 5 days camp. He requested to reach class earlier and when he was home, he continued working on his coding projects after dinner. I’ve never seen him so serious about anything before."
"My 8 year old son loved the course and kept raving about how fun it was. I think he’s also proud that he could create a game which is self motivating. Last night Friday before he slept, he said “I wished there is class tomorrow!”
If your kid doesn't think it's the best thing ever after attending the first 2 days of holiday camps (or first 3 weeks of term classes), and would like to withdraw, we'll issue you a 50% credit note of the amount paid.
