About Saturday Kids
Saturday Kids Japan is the Tokyo-based branch of Saturday Kids, one of Asia’s first and most popular coding schools for kids.
Our mission is to use digital literacy classes to transform kids into self-motivated learners who are curious, inventive & resourceful.
Since our founding in Singapore in 2012, we have taught over 6,000 kids how to “code to learn”, through classes in programming, electronics, digital art and design thinking.
We run classes in our own centres, teach at public and private schools, and partner with Google to design and deliver Singapore’s most comprehensive free coding program for kids.
Saturday Kids programs have also run in countries from Cambodia, Taiwan, the Philippines and Vietnam, partnering with government agencies such as USAID and corporate sponsors.
In 2019, we opened our doors in Tokyo, bringing some of our most popular courses to kids in Japan for the first time. Our programs are being conducted at some of Tokyo’s most prestigious schools – including Shonan Seminar, Montessori School of Tokyo, PALIS, Tokyo Children’s Garden and Tokyo International Progressive School (TIPS) – and have been featured on Nikkei and TV Tokyo.
We love teaching kids and letting them engage meaningfully with technology. We’ve seen the many amazing things kids can come up with! We want kids to have a chance to use technology as a tool to express their creativity, think critically, solve problems and along the way discover what they’re passionate about.
We are a team of teachers, anthropologist, geeks, programmers, product designers, mummies, daddies and changemakers at heart. We’ve seen how creativity, technology, and design are being used by people around the world to solve humanity’s problems and impact people’s lives, and we think – “why not start our kids young?”
